It’s that feeling. When you don’t feel 100%, you just don’t feel like YOU. It could be energy levels, or extra weight that you just can’t lose, or an inability to sleep or focus. What does aging gracefully look like to you?

I can help you to get to the root cause of your problem. After all you can only start to address it once it’s been identified. Do you have perimenopause symptoms?

For example, losing weight is never just about ‘losing weight’. This is why calorie restricted diets are destined to fail as they are a short term solution to a long term issue. As soon as you stop restricting calories, you’ll regain the ‘lost’ weight. We all know friends or family who keep losing that same 5kg.

As a health coach I’ve been trained in behaviour change using motivational interviewing and positive psychology. A foundational tenet to health coaching is that I will meet you where you are at right now.

This means that if you’re training for a marathon and need support on balancing sleep and stress, I can help you. Equally if your GP has informed you that you’re pre-diabetic and suggests losing weight and exercising, but you don’t know where to begin, I can help.

As a Functional Medicine Health Coach, I can partner with you to explore which areas in your life you choose to improve. If you embrace aging gracefully, how will that impact your health-span?

I’m particularly interested in working with women aged 45+ who perhaps need some assistance in prioritising their health and wellness needs. As a member of this group myself I find that we’re the last ones to book an appointment at the doctor’s surgery:

Receptionist: Is this a medical emergency?
You: Well, no…

Receptionist: Oh, well can you tell me why you need an appointment?

You: I’m not feeling 100%, you know I’m struggling to get going in the morning, I’ve put on a few kilos that I just can’t get rid of. I’m not sleeping properly.

Receptionist:
How about September 2nd at 9:20?

You:
Okay, if that’s the earliest non-urgent date that you have.

Receptionist:
It is. Of course, that’s in 2021…

Our healthcare system isn’t currently built for handling either wellness or chronic disease. It works well for acute illnesses and frankly if you’re at death’s door. Hopefully this will change in the future, it’s already starting with tele-medicine. If you don’t want to wait that long then please do get in touch.

We’ll co-create micro habit changes for you, and experiment to see how you and your body react to these changes. It’s not going to be easy. You will have to put in the work, and I will support you to become the healthiest (and happiest) version of you.
